How to make YouTube Videos?
How to make YouTube Videos?
If you're thinking that you need a DSLR and a huge setup to make videos on YouTube, well... You're the wrong mate. And if you're thinking that you can say this: "Subscribe to my channel and like, comment, share" to everyone you see on this planet... actually you're not wrong you're depressed.
Who am I to Teach YOU How to make YouTube Videos?
If you're not aware that I too make YouTube videos, then here's the link:- Anshuman Stark go check it out and subscribe to my channel and press the... you know the remaining shit.
If you read my last blog on 'How to Make a Game, ALL ON YOUR OWN', you already know that I have a HUGE fan following of a total of '98 subscribers' on YouTube. Believe me, that's a big deal... or maybe not THAT BIG.
Why YouTube, not any Other Platform?
YouTube is the best, you also love YouTube. Only if you're not making videos "SHORTS" on TikTok, TakaTak, Reels, Moj, Zilli, Josh, Ropose, Him Video, Like Kro, Share Chat, Likely, Chingari............................... Oh lord please help this Planet!
Why you're wrong about YouTube...
People think that they can just make/post shitty content and Yann around everywhere this: "Subscribe to my channel, Like, Comment & Share" and monetize their channel and earn 12000-13000/- per month.
Things don't work like that now, it was a good trick 7-8 years ago in India when getting a speed of 1 mb/s on Wifi was a BREAKING NEWS. But now, thanks to JIO, everyone has an internet pack of 199 per month on their mobile phones and they can post whatever they want on YouTube.
My personal experience...
A few years ago, I also tried this trick when I and my brother started a YouTube channel called: "Mama-G Unboxing". We used to do the unboxing and reviewing stuff. We used to say that subscribe, like, comment shit to everyone including people on barbershops, railway stations, and everywhere a human can imagine.
We totally didn't start our YouTube channel because we wanted to earn money, our real motivation was to provide good content to everyone... this was a very very good joke. Our only motivation was getting our channel monetized as soon as possible so we can earn some economic unit that functions as a generally recognized medium of exchange for transactional purposes in an economy...Money.
And I'm telling you, that channel was a total failure but in a good way because it taught me that the next time you make videos always keep money on your second.
My Motivation is also Making Money - What do I do now?
I'm also not saying that you should not expect a single penny from YouTube. Always keep money second, your main goal should be uploading good Content that people will enjoy and you too will enjoy making that content.
As I told you, anyone can post content on YouTube easily in India because of Ambani JIO, which means there's a Crowd. And to get recognized in this Crowd of 31 million worldwide channels, be Unique.
People think that if Dynamo and Mortal are earning a ton of money by just playing PUBG on YouTube, why shouldn't we do the same? I used to think this way too when I started 'Mama-G Unboxing', "if Techincal Guruji is earning Lakhs of rupees by just unboxing, I can earn too."
Look, there's nothing wrong with thinking this way. Anyone can get inspired by other big creators, my channel is also inspired by Dani, but the problem starts when your main motivation becomes Money.
Dynamo didn't start his channel because he only wanted to earn money, he started it because he loved PUBG and he loved it so much that he wanted to show his skills to other people too. If you're too good at PUBG and you've the confidence to show your skills to people, go for it. But don't copy Dynamo or someone else, get inspired and make your own style.
What type of content should I post?
Let us assume that your mindset is finally changed about making YouTube videos. Now the question is "What type of videos should I make?". It's a pretty great question because it generates two more questions: "Do I need all that camera and stuff to make videos?" and "What should I do If I don't have money to invest?"
Well... it depends on you. If you're skilled in one particular thing and you think you can show it to other people in a pretty good way, then you can make videos on it. For example, take me. I'm a Game Developer and I think that I can show my skills to people in a pretty good way, so I make videos on it.
And one more thing a lot of people ask is "Should I make funny content or serious content?". The answer is pretty simple, be who you really are even in front of the camera.
If you're funny in real life, show some humour in your videos too, channel examples:- Anshuman Stark, Carryminati, Samuel Miller. And if you're serious in real life, make videos to the point without a lot of humour like education channels, channel examples:- Dr. Vivek Bindra, Veritasium, Mark Robber. You can be both too, there are no OFFICIAL rules it all depends on you.
Investment
When I started my channel 'Mama-G Unboxing', I invested a lot of money(according to my scale). I bought a 1500/- tripod, 3500/- umbrella light, and a lot of stuff. And you already know, that channel totally didn't work out. This proves that you don't particularly need to invest a ton of money in making videos, you can even start from 0.
A few years later when I started the channel 'Anshuman Stark', I started from 0. I still use my brother's phone to record videos and for audio, I use a 3000/- mic(Okay maybe not from 0). But still, 3000/- isn't THAT BIG investment. All I want to say is if you're dedicated to making good videos, you specifically don't need a PC to edit videos neither you need a DSLR to record one. All you need is Jugaad, and if you're Indian... you don't actually need to practice this skill, you already have it.
But if you can afford a good DSLR and setup, I'll recommend getting one because it'll really boost your content quality and speed. But if you can't, then start making content with whatever you have right now.
This is my friend's channel, he edits his videos with his mobile phone and he just crossed 1k on his channel...
How to monetize your channel?
Let us assume that you've uploaded 4-5 videos on youtube and now, you want 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time. Here are some tips that I learned from a lot of Youtube videos and books but I still don't follow most of them:-
1. Don't ever beg someone to subscribe, like... just tell them that you make YouTube videos, that's it. If your content is good they will subscribe, like & comment. And do the same thing while making videos, you might have seen some videos which are 5 min long in total and the real content is 30 seconds, the remaining 4 minutes and 30 seconds are for begging for Subscribe, Like and the remaining shit.
2. Try to upload videos regularly. This totally doesn't mean uploading videos every 3rd day. This means, for example, let us assume you uploaded a video on the 5th of June. Now, if it takes you 5-6 days to make your one video, it'll be better for you to upload on every 6th day. And if it takes you around a month to make one video, it'll be better to upload it on the 5th of July and the next one on the 5th of August and so on. This is called being regular.
I personally don't follow this because I only make new videos every time when I feel like to and that happens 4-5 months later.
3. Make videos that you like to watch, because if you like your own videos then there would definitely be some other people who will like your videos too.
4. You won't need to upload a lot of videos if your channel is Unique, after a few videos there's definitely a chance that the YouTube algorithm will pick your video up and that video will be Viral.
If you wanna know more about the Youtube algorithm, watch this video by Veriatsium...
Conclusion
Making Youtube videos is the best part-time job one can do. You don't actually need Talent, Money, Motivation etc. to make videos. The only thing you need is Persistence, that's it. Keep making good, Unique videos, I can assure you people will love it.
Making a single Youtube video is hard but in a good way. If you're also a YouTuber, you also know how it feels like when you finally hit that upload icon on the top right, after a "Brain Fucked Up" period of editing, recording the forgotten part again, recording audio again because it isn't your tempo, editing again. Believe me, that feeling is worth more than the money💰 you'll ever make on Youtube.
So start making videos that no one has ever thought you'll make... Love what you're doing, and like me, make videos every time you feel like to... maybe that's every hour for you OR maybe that's every 4 months for you, like me...
